Wall (31Mar12)

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

I have finished building up the wall in the hallway and added lights – I used timber cladding – still not sure if it’s the best way to do it but for now its an easy solution.

The boxing in is so that we can hide the central heating pipes for the radiator in the office.

Anti Cat windows (24Mar12)

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

I constructed some fillers for the porch windows so that the cats stay out. Not sure yet whether to paint or varnish.

Gas tank (14Mar12)

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

The gas tank was delivered this morning……..trouble is, apparently it has to be 3 meters from any source of electricity and the calor rep missed that it is right next to the pump house.

Also looks a bit of an eyesore where it is…

He said we will get around it but I don’t see how – will probably need to make a new pad the other side of the house.

It’s a great deal if we can get it sorted because they are giving us 1000 litres free!!

Anti Cat Device (07Mar12)

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

Finally came up with an easy solution to stopping the cats from getting into the kitchen but still seeing through.

In the winter we can have a curtain there in addition to help keep the heat where we want it.

Finished plastering (04Mar12)

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

Plastering was all finished on Wednesday.?á Drying out really well.

Heliport (04Mar12)

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

Peter and his enthusiastic assistant Josh build a great concrete pad last week ready for the calor gas tank. Hopefully if we can get a tank installed we can have some proper heat. The cylinders only last 2 weeks and are very expensive compared to bulk gas. Ôé¼100 – Ôé¼120 per fill depending where you go!?á The bulk calor gas is 58c per litre compared to over Ôé¼1 per litre for the bottles. (one 47kg gas bottle holds 91.8l)
