Laying the concrete (31Oct08)

Friday, October 31st, 2008

The old barn gable looks a little lost growing out of the concrete slab – I hope I made the right decision to keep it.

In order to get an even finished floor level, there is a serious amount of filling on the south side of the building.

Start of the drainage(23Oct08)

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

This is the prep work for extra drainage pipes through the site?áand a new entrance onto the site which should make a difference for the builders. We decided that although this is an extra cost it makes much more sense to have it done now when the machinery is on site than chancing it and finding we need the work doing later (thanks to MM for pointing this out) The drainage at the road frontage has already been laid and covered.

Day one of the build(14Oct08)

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Its amazing how much damage you can do in one day with the right machinery!

?áIt almost makes us a little apprehensive about how it’s all going to look in the end. Gone is the peaceful old cottage surrounded by greenery……..
