There are quite a few nests at the site – the tits are nesting in the wall and by the gate and swallows have nested in the barn and cottage.

Time Goes By(09Nov07)

It’s been a few months. We are still waiting for full planning permission and it’s amazing how much grows in such a short space of time so I spent the last week clearing a load of brambles and chopping a few trees.

Mobile Home Relocation (09Jun07)

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

Well the task today is to move the mobile home in front of the cottage to the side where it will hopefully be out of the way. We had a days worth of site clearing by mini digger last Thursday which cost Ôé¼300 but made me realise how pointless?áit is clearing by hand.

Here’s some pictures from inside the cottage showing the old thatch underneath the tin roof. Love the original old beams on the second picture?áwhich are just striped down pine trees….

Shovelling Sh1t (06May2007)

Well its not so idillic today – we decided to get stuck in clearing the rest of the cow poop from the cottage. Nine years of use as a cow shed = lots of dung……Not quite the renovation we had in mind so far.

?á?áIt deosn’t look as good on the pictures, but we moved a serious amount of dung – I wish i’d taken a picture of the dung heap we created. It was like the hills they all built in close encounters…..(am I thinking of the right film?)

Our Idilic country cottage waiting to be rescued from decay…(05May2007)

…(otherwise known as a complete wreck of an old stone cow shed)

Took some better pics today. We also did some more clearing round the back and chopped some trees down. On the left you can see the growing mountain of turf we have removed from the stone at the front of the cottage.
