There are quite a few nests at the site – the tits are nesting in the wall and by the gate and swallows have nested in the barn and cottage.

Now that the mobile home is relocated, we can continue to renovate it…..

We?áfitted new kitchen units (B&Q) and have most of the walls painted which seemed to take forever….

Well the task today is to move the mobile home in front of the cottage to the side where it will hopefully be out of the way. We had a days worth of site clearing by mini digger last Thursday which cost Ôé¼300 but made me realise how pointless?áit is clearing by hand.

The walls have been primed and painted. What a transformation. I also replaced one complete wall with thin ply and renewed the timber frame underneath.

I ripped out the old chipboard floor and discovered it was only half of the van that was floored with chipboard. This made it easier to replace with ply. The other half was still what I assume was the original?áply floor. I discovered that some of the steel also needed repairing, particularly the towing hitch which was corroding away…

In antication of the plans being aproved quickly as we already have outline permission, we decided to buy a mobile home so that if the renovation was started we could move up to the site either at weekends to do work or permanently if we run out of money…

Unfortunately, when i walked through the lounge of our bargain mobile home (Ôé¼2500) I discovered why it was cheap as my foot went through the floor……..
